Powder Diffraction

1. X-ray diffraction

X-ray Diffraction (XRD) is an established standard technique which provides information on structure, crystalline phase, preferred crystal orientation (texture), and other structural parameters such as crystallite size, percent crystallinity, strain, stress, and crystal defects. Qualitative analysis can be performed by comparing the diffraction patterns of a given sample to a data base (COD database and/or ICDD PDF) containing reference patterns.
